The new version 1.8.x
is out. It brings a first step towards a new merchant system and improved game economy.
First of all, all the sound system of the game has been reworked. This brings more reliable and more performant sounds & music in the game. There is now a dedicated music background when there is an incident, so you can feel the tension when there is an incident.
Then, letโs talk about the biggest change here: the merchant system. Previously, the merchant system was very poor, with only 1 passive trading mechanism. Now, this passive trading has been improved and is now more reliable for players. In addition to that, there are 3 merchant NPC. In order to be able to trade with them, youโll have to negotiate. After that, you can trade with them, by using your trading ships. So as you can imagine, there are now 3 new expeditions and 3 new trading routes.
Last, but not least, there is a new difficulty: idle
. This difficulty is meant to be used by players looking for a chill and comfy idle game. In other words, all negative events (like newspaper and incident) are drastically reduced with this difficulty: you can let the game run without having to watch it.
Finally, Iโve achieved a huge work on the performance optimisations. Now the game is faster, smoother (even on low end devices) and does not even overheat your mobile! You can enjoy playing the game without having to worry about your mobile temperature.

# Features
- There is now a dedicated background music during an incident
- Added a progress indicator on the expedition list to show current expedition progress
- Added a compact mode to the buildings list
- Puzzle Minigame: Added an indicator showing the tile position in the top-left corner
- Added a new difficulty: โIdleโ, for players seeking idle gameplay
- There are now 3 merchants in the game. Unlock them via expeditions. They offer better trade rates than passive trading
- You can now build a depot on the island.
# Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the riot incident wouldnโt resolve when the population dropped below a certain threshold.
- Expeditions now unload resources from the ship instead of the currently selected city
- Depot is now properly taken into account on the Arctic
- Fixed a potential crash at startup if login takes more than 5 minutes
- Population building needs are no longer impacted by newspaper and bonuses.
- Fixed some translations.
# Others
- Long press on Construct is now exponential.
- Passive Merchant: Now consistently buys and/or sells resources based on your thresholds. It will buy at least 50% of the quantity available per stack, up to a limit based on your progression
- Improved game performance
- The population indicator in the top bar now highlights the selected menu (reminder: itโs a navigation shortcut)
- The merchant trade card on the overview screen is now easier to read
- Long press on construct button is now exponential
